The European Conference on Social Media (ECSM) is a well-established academic conference, held annually for over a decade, with a focus on advancing research and dialogue around social media. The primary aim of ECSM is to provide a platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals to share and discuss their findings on the multifaceted impacts of social media. The conference emphasises the importance of understanding how social media influences various sectors, including society, education, business, and governance. The open access conference proceedings, published annually, provide valuable insights and are frequently cited by academics, policymakers, and industry professionals, underscoring the conference’s role in shaping the future of cyber warfare and security.

As Conference Chairs, we are delighted and proud to welcome you to this year’s conference at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences. It is a great honour for us to host this international gathering at Campus Rothenburg and to bring together scholars, practitioners, and students from different disciplines and countries. With our research contributions and active engagement, we aim to create a stimulating environment for scholarly exchange, constructive debate, and interdisciplinary dialogue. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy both the academic programme and the special atmosphere of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I wish you a pleasant stay and a successful, memorable conference.

We are planning to run our series of conferences as physical events with the option for participants to join virtually. We urge you to continue to submit your abstracts and papers in line with the published dates (extensions will be granted on request). For more details contact info@academic-conferences.org.
Conference Publications



Papers accepted for the ECSM after the double-blind peer review process, will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The conference proceedings have an ISSN (2055-7213) and will be assigned an ISBN on publication. Proceedings are accessible here: https://papers.academic-conferences.org/index.php/ecsm
Additionally, papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development and possible publication in the journals listed below. Authors are invited to submit their work to these journals mentioning that they attended the conference. Authors will be expected to develop the work by 40-50%, including a change of title and abstract. Individual journal procedures will need to be followed and there is no guarantee of publication.
